One year from today I shall turn 60 years old. Many millions have accomplished this feat before me-some are this very day. So its not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, except for me it is. Not in a boohoo whoa is me kind of way but in a this is a milestone and I am going to honor it kind of way. This blog will be a celebration of life in all its messiness with looks back and looks ahead. Mostly though, it is a look at now. The present moment-cause that’s all we got y’all. Right now. Stop for just a second and breathe right now-be in the moment you are in. Ahhhhh. Look around you are you where you want to be? Just curious… Most of the time I am, I hope this exercise in awareness will help me find that place more often.
An important and remarkable fact-I share my birthday with my Mom. I was born on her 22nd birthday. Hummm 22 is my lucky number and until this very moment I have never put those two things together. See what can happen in a present moment? Any thought that has been circling around for years can finally show up when we are present.
So far this morning I have done my morning pages, chanted, meditated then cruised around Facebook. The muffins I made for breakfast just came out of the oven and all of that is already in the past-except for the muffins they are in my very near future!
I am grateful that I get to spend the day with my Mom and one of my daughters, my husband and son will join us for dinner tonight. I miss my other daughter who lives far away. All in all this is a wonderful start to another revolution around the sun. I hope you will join me as I-we explore this present moment, counting up.
